I don’t need to tell what is going on in the world. But yes, we are in lock-down as well here in the UK. This means at the moment I am not working in the office anymore. But luckily I still have a full time job and life carries on as normal for me but than within my small cosy apartment in East London.
So for anyone who isn’t that lucky and anyone else, hope you all stay safe and healthy.
But it is a good moment to share with you, what is happening with me here in London. First of all we aren’t allowed to go out, only for essential shopping and once a day exercise.
Secondly when you are out is just weird to see the world in the current stage. The biggest shopping mall of London and the UK next to my house is completely deserted. Only 4 shops are open and that are pharmaceutical shops and supermarkets.
Also it gets tough in the industry I am working in. Transport industry is currently almost in sleeping mode. While you hope that when you can’t focus on your day to day operations that the innovations machines gets spinning to look at opportunities when this is over, unfortunately that doesn’t happen.
But the good thing is you see the world coming together. Communities are there when you didn’t even know there was a community. Our neighbourhood has a What’s App group to help each other out. The travel community group has social events to meet each other online in social environments, musicians are giving concerts online and so on. I think there was never a greater community feeling than what is going on at the moment. Let’s keep that feeling also after this crisis.
And for anyone who wants to travel from home? Here are 10 ways how you can travel from your own home during this Eastern weekend. Enjoy!
