Some places are indeed paradise. The food is fresh, filled with spices and leaves you feeling good both inside and out. The sun is up and warming the sands for around 13 hours a day, while the sea and sky are both shades of blue that you can only imagine until you see it. The waters are perfect for surfing, fishing, paddle boarding and so much more, but what beaches should you be heading to?
Secret Spot
Although not really all that secret anymore, White Sand Beach is a little-secluded spot. It’s a decent distance away from the busier beaches and is perfect for people who want to get away for awhile. You’re going to need either a tour guide willing to take you off the beaten track or rent a 4X4 because ‘bumpy’ is the lightest way to describe the path. Great for snorkelling and being alone.
Trendy Hangout
The rise in popularity has also seen the rise of particular beaches that attract social butterflies. Seminyak Beach is a bit of a hub now. Is it laden with restaurants, boutique stores and outlets, and bars – so pretty much caters to most. The sand is grey, meaning that as you sip your cocktail as the sunsets, you’re going to get a simply spectacular view, and likely make some great travelling companions too.
Turquoise Toes
If you are looking to hand out and catch some surf, then this tranquil place is likely going to be the one for you. Geger Beach is known as being one of the most tranquil beaches, so if you’re looking to find a spot to practise your paddle-boarding, reading a book you’ve been trying to finish for ages or pad gently along the turquoise surf – you’re going to fall in love here.
Volcanic Sands
A much-loved spot of many resorts, Sanur Beach, is a little haven. With its ultra-fine volcanic sand which is encircled by a long winding path – making it ideal for those who love cycling or walking. And, as if those things aren’t already enough you can spot many locals flying kites – making for those gorgeous photos that you’ve probably seen.
Making an Entrance
Imagine a vast rocky outcrop which slowly narrows into an unforgettable cave entrance to a beach. A beach which appeared in Eat, Pray, Love. If you have some mental images of you catching some serious waves, then this will be the top of your list as it is considered od of (if not the) best surf spots in the south of Bali. Expect it to be busy; it’s a much-loved spot.
For the Views
Nusa Dua isn’t really an amazing beach, but instead, it is a breath-taking cluster of resorts littered along the coastline. The sand is said to be incredibly soft, and the waves gently lap the shore.
So what are you waiting for? Find a flight, check out luxury rental villas in Bali and head off to the holiday of a lifetime – with a beach to match.
