Where in the first vlog I covered Negombo and Colombo in 48 hours, it is now time to move forward. Taking the bus from Negombo to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Exploring the Elepehant Orphanage and from there move to Kandy, where we still have some time left to explore Sri Dalada Maligawa.
While loads of people would recommend you NOT to visit the elephant orphanage. I think our advice would be different on that, and it also more complicated as people are saying. For more discussion on this matter, please read my previous post about this. However I hope at least this video shows you that this elephant orphanage can be worth visiting.
While bus transport in Sri Lanka is easy to figure out, and it is easy to reach certain destinations. This doesn’t mean you can sit down all the time. At least not this time, so also standing in the bus is part of the journey.
Kandy has some several interesting places to visit. While we will explore more of Kandy in the next video. At least this time we had time to visit a ceremony in the Temple of Tooth, or better known for locals as Sri Dalada Maligawa. It is a special experience to witness such a ceremony. Everyone is wearing white, so the choice of my girlfriend to wear a red sharee wasn’t the right decision. But at least it give a lot of nice responses from the locals.
As always I can’t mention enough how friendly people here in Sri Lanka are. Our host helped us a lot, and also people on the street helped us a lot during our bus journey. Don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube Channel to get automatically a notification of new uploaded videos.
And if you have any experience with Sri Lanka, or have any questions, don’t hesitate to put them down in the comments below.
